PEG-MGF is a stabilized form of mechano growth factor, a splice variant of IGF-1 (often noted as IGF-1Ec) expressed in muscle following mechanical stress. PEGylation prolongs circulation time and protects the peptide from rapid degradation, enabling extended exposure in experimental models. It’s investigated for supporting muscle repair by promoting satellite-cell activation and early myogenic signaling, with exploratory work in connective tissue and neuroprotection contexts.
